This
map shows the extraordinary collection of major thoroughfares that
intersect in Florida City.
Krome Avenue, the Florida Turnpike, and US
Route 1. (at this point carrying I-95 traffic) Unlike the only other
place where they meet in South Dade, these thoroughfares intersect at
grade in Florida City.
As a result traffic must move slowly, allowing
motorists to easily access local commerce. The only two routes into the
Florida Keys also converge at this point. Six million automobiles, many
of them transporting tourists in a leisurely state of mind, pass through
Florida City. Stop in, next time you're in our neighborhood.
