Individuals must bring the following original documents to validate their identity:

US Citizens: Passport, or Passport Card, or US Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate (all originals), Social Security card, and proof of address (bills or letters mailed to customer).

Residents: I-551 Resident Card, Social Security, and proof of address.

Non-Immigrants: Immigration documents proving legal status and proof of address. If the old DL or ID has a yellow star, it means the customer already has the REAL ID and no documents are needed—except for non-immigrants or those who need to change their address.
